Adam Doster is a freelance writer and editor based in Chicago. His work has appeared in ESPN the Magazine, The Classical, the Wall Street Journal, The Nation, The Chicago Reader, Chicago, and Deadspin, among other publications. Between 2008 and 2011, Doster reported and blogged for Progress Illinois, writing extensively on state and city government. In 2010, he was part of the editorial team that received a Studs Terkel Community Media Award. Before PI, Doster frequently contributed to In These Times, where he covered the labor movement, education, and electoral organizing and was named senior editor.
Doster grew up in Flossmoor, Illinois and graduated with university honors from the University of Michigan in 2007. While in Ann Arbor, he served as managing editor of The Michigan Independent, a monthly progressive magazine.
